Problem
Most recorders build the file when you press stop. If the app is killed, the battery dies or the screen locks at the wrong moment, that file was never written.
Solution
Tapedeck writes continuously instead. Every 1, 3 or 10 seconds the audio on disk is already a complete, playable recording. Kill it at any moment and what you recorded is still there on the next launch, with recovery after a crash or a dead battery. It keeps going through the lock screen and other apps, with a Live Activity while it records.
Outcome
There is no account and no server: recording, playback and transcription make no network requests at all. Recording is free with no limits. Pro adds on-device transcripts, search inside recordings by word, and export as text, Markdown or SRT, with the first transcript free so people can see what they get before paying.
